P2 Card Reader

I'm a brand new member and have owned the HVX200A since Friday. I'm wondering if there is a P2 card reader that's available in the market that I can use to download the cards into my Mac Pro and/or iBook other than the camera and the P2 store. Hoping it's something inexpensive. You can email me at bundorf@gmail.com or reply here. Thanks, Boris.

any older mac laptop (or any laptop for that matter) that has a pcmcia slot will work. other than that, you'll just have to connect your camera via firewire.
there really arent any "inexpensive" options.

Nothing inexpensive

Many have asked, but the word is that it is not doable by Panasonic at what most would consider inexpensive.

Wish it were otherwise

The camera, P2 Store, P2 Gear, P2 Mobile, PCD20, PCD10, and a Windows laptop through gigabit ethernet. Those are all that I can think of.

For expresscard you can use the duel adapter or the PCD35.

I have a new MBP as well and use the Duel Adaptor, works fine, and it is inexpensive, got mine for $50 on Ebay delivered. If your assistant is off loading your P2s while you're shooting, it's a cheap off load option. I think they're about $100 new.

'Course, as mentioned, firewire from the cam is easy and the best option if you have the time.

Take care

Jeremy
