P2 Card Promotion through April?

Greetings, How is everyone? While looking at the Panasonic site, I noticed that they mentioned that you could send in your applicable purchase info (via their form) until April 30th... I was speaking with a rep at Spec-comm and he mentioned that he thought this meant that I could still get the card if I purchased the cam this month... However, the site mentions that it has to be purchased by March 31st. I won't be able to purchase this camera until next week, and I was hoping (obviously) for the free card. Anybody have any info on this? Thanks!
 
Here is what the site says. :

" Purchase the Panasonic AG-HVX200 and receive a FREE 8GB P2 card.

Purchase a new Panasonic AG-HVX200 DVCPRO HD camera from an Authorized Panasonic Dealer from October 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007 and receive one (1) FREE AJ-P2C008HG 8GB P2 card (a $1,200 retail value) and a FREE copy of The HVX Book + CD by Barry Green (a $89.95 retail value)! Offer valid only for U.S. authorized product shipped to U.S. customers. All claims must be submitted by April 30, 2007."

You may have misunderstood me last night. I think Panasonic added the April 30th date to specify a cut off time for rebate submissions, NOT a cut off time for the rebate.

I hope this clears things up. :)

I've been waiting 6 weeks for mine. in the online Pana rebate check, they say "still in process."

any comments on this, anyone?
 
Thanks, I figured, just wanted to double check. Bummer though, this camera would've been super perfect for me - and now it feels like I'm paying $1200 more than I should for it. Perhaps the grey market is calling me...

If you need it now than get it, otherwise wait a few weeks and see what deals are offered next. P2 prices will likely drop so it may not be 1,200 you missed out on.
 
That's so sad. I bought the HVX200 March 30th. I thought I might be in for a treat, but living in Norway - I'm not covered by the promotion. :( I was really getting my hopes up. Oh, well. I'm also waiting for the P2-cards, they are not in at the time. So I have to hang on to DV a bit longer (and for projects that are long) :-)
 
Waiting for the NAB is a great idea, I'll hold out for that. I've been holding out for FCP 6 anyhow... any chance there'll be a new Handheld tapeless HD option? Paging Canon...
 
Velmont, wait some longer, until NAB and you will get a much better price for the cards...specially i would suggest to do so in europe, there is allready a german dealer offering 8GB p2 card for around 550€ plus Vat, so get the cheap one..!
 
so everyones still sayin the cards take forever to get delivered :crybaby: dang. i just ordered my hvx the 28th so im supposed to recive it today but that still means i gotta wait like another 2 months before i can actually use it for what i want and everyones talking the cards are going to drop after NAB lol so even if i wanted to buy one i would be better of waiting a little longer
 
Ah, I too was hoping it was extened till end of April. Hopefully they'll have another rebate soon, or start packing in for free (1) 4gb P2 card!
