P2 card price drop, $695, $480 and $380 respectively

[Philip Goetz]

Effective today, the Panasonic's E-Series of 64GB, 32GB and 16GB P2 cards will carry suggested list prices of $695, $480 and $380, respectively. The new pricing reflects a 30% reduction in the company’s popular 64GB P2 card.

I might get my hand on one of those 64's pretty soon, never could afford a 64

Help me out. Does that mean that just the 64 GB p2 cards have been reduced 30% or that all cards have been reduced 30%?

Seems a little confusing.

Dave,

It has to be price reduction of 30%, Cause BH prices reflect that, I just paid $899.00 for the 64GB P2 card 2 weeks ago.
$699.00 now.

Rob.

It looks like those are reduced prices, but I am not sure if it was 30% across the board. Another DVXUser sponsor previously carried the 32GB P2 card for $575. It is now listed as $479 which is not 30% but is still a nice deal.

30% on the 64gb..less on others

30% on the 64gb..less on others

That's what I thought. It might have simpler if Panasonic said that the 64 GB cards were reduced 30% and the rest 10%.

Anyway.

I believe %30 on 64 GB has to do with introduction of AVC-Intra. 32 GB will be used by more people with AVC-Intra gears because of more recording time than DVCPROHD format. and 64 GB will fit perfectly for us using the current p2 DVCPROHD work flow.
