I use a Lacie portable FW drive to download directly from my 500. When I connect the drive to my desktop, the data shows up as a group of drives that are all named "NO NAME".
I also note that when I pull the cards out of the camera and look at the on a laptop, each card is names "NO NAME".
This hasn't been a problem up to now as I rename the drives/cards/folders on the destop.
Now, I have a client from out of town who wants to carry the raw footage away without me being able to rename the data. This seems like a problem. I don't want to sent them away without knowing what shot is on which card.
How can I name the cards before I shoot in an easy and quick way?
How do you guys handle this?
Am I thinking about this the wrong way?
In the past, I would never send a client away with tapes that were not numbered and without a shooting log that referenced those tape numbers.
Sorry if this has been discussed before.
