P2 Card Limbo

Hello Guys. I finally got a hold of a 16GB P2 card from a friend of mine. Currently, I am having major problems. My laptop (Dell XPS M140) is not recognizing the P2 Card. This is my very first time using a P2 card. This is the order of the things I have done so far.

1. First I installed the HVX200 Utility Software and it keep asking me to insert a usb 2 which I did but it won't recognize it.

2. Second I copied the update files from https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/desk/e/index.htm into my SD card.

3. I did the update and it was completed with no problems.

4. I inserted the P2 card in the slot and it still won't do anything.


I did do a quick search but only found articles on MAC's not PC laptops.
I need help badly since I have a 9am call time.

Make sure to check that you're installing the CardBus driver.

Actually, install the CardBus and the USB HVX200 driver in case you ever want to connect the camera that way.

Hey Barry. Thank you for the quick reply. Cardbus driver is not on the list. all of them are usb drives and the last one is a 1394 drive.

I tried the Panasonic HVX200 usb drive but it won't recognize my usb.

any other suggestions? i had to rent a laptop that already had the p2 manager and p2 viewer.

Make sure the camera's PC MODE is set to USB, that you are in MCR mode, that there are P2 cards in the slots, and then press and hold the MODE button for three seconds to initiate a USB connection.
