P2 Card Hot Swapping Error Message

I searched the forums and I couldn't find an answer, so here goes. I was recording 720pn /24p on a shoot last week. I removed a full 8 Gb P2 card from the camera while still rolling, the camera was recording on the other card now (16Gb). I tried to put an empty 8 Gb card back into slot 1 on the camera and the screen went off and in red letters a message was shown to TURN OFF POWER. As far as I can tell, no clips were affected in a negative way. Has anyone seen this ? If so any remedies ? All other footage is fine, but the HVX did do this a few times. One time the 16 Gb card said it was full, but when I went to dump the footage, it said that only 10 Gb had been used. That only occurred once, every other time it said that 14 + Gb of space had been used. Thanks as always for your insights.

I have had this up for about a week. Does anyone experience this issue ? I can't believe that it only happens in my camera. A little help here, Bueller , anyone ?

How did you clear the card that you hotswapped? There have been reports of people erasing them on Macs, and the camera rejecting them when the cards are placed back in the camera.

I always format the cards in the camera. I have seen the error with a 16 Gb and a 8 Gb card. It happens infrequently, but that's still to often ! Using a Fs-100 now, with cards in LOOP mode, we'll see how it goes.
