P2 card for Mac Pro Laptop

Does anyone know if there is an adapter to put in a MacBook Pro PCI slot for directly inserting the P2 card for downloading...

Thanks in advance

I second the Duel Systems Adapter. I use it all the time to copy P2 cards and I love the transfer speed and ease of use. Just make sure you leave it plugged in after inserting it, because if you remove it and try to reinsert it it won't mount and you have to restart. It is not hot swappable. It is a very cheap alternative to a p2 drive or P2store.

what are the transfer times like for a full 16GB P2 card?

is it much quicker than just using the camera to mount the p2 card?

Twice real time with the duel adapter.

Or about 8 minutes for a 16GB card.

That is significantly faster than either FW or USB transfer.

A little confused:

If I have the duel adapter for a Macbook Pro and I am transferring straight to an external drive that is connected through firewire 800, will I still get that same 8 min per 16GB card transfer speed? (Using P2CMS)

Do the RPMs on the external hard drive have anything to do with transfer rate?

Thanks.

eSATA

eSATA

I already use the PCI slot for my eSATA drives. I wonder if there is a Firewire version?
