P2 card back-up to HDD?

[robzila27]

Is it possible to shoot 720P/24Pn (HVX-200a) and copy to external HDD from camera via FireWire? I have been told that 24Pn cannot stream through FireWire...is this correct?

Anybody? Yes? No? Am I posting in the wrong forum? Should I ask this question in the "Technical" sub-forum?

You can send it out from the recorded P2 to a HDD via firewire, you just can't stream live out from the camera and capture it via laptop.

720pN can't be streamed live over firewire as a video signal.

However you can copy any (including 720pN) files over firewire from P2 cards to a computer or a firewire drive beeing controlled by the camera)
