P2 and Mac

Santa was good - I've now joined the HVX ranks.

But having read this forum, I'm concerned re mac and p2 integration - particularly the spectre of corrupted files after transfer.

So a few questions if I may:

1 - has the corrupt clips issue been resolved or at least narrowed in scope to particular situations?

2 - Does the use of P2 Store or FS-100 innoculate you from the corruption issue?

3 - what is the most reliable/preferred clip transfer method

Any other relevant info or thoughts would be welcomed.
 
Corrupt clips hasn't been resolved, and no clear indication on how to recreate the bug in the OS.

Some report issues only on spanned clips.

I used the Firewire Connect method, and do not use two cards at the same time in the cam.

I haven't had any issues.
 
1- Nope, nothing from Apple yet, Focus is working very hard on figuring it out.
2- Nothing innocluates you.
3- Depends on your needs. I need to shoot for long peirods of time non-top and can't carry a laptop around with me. So I pretty much have the FS-100. Some folks carry a laptop to offload to. It's all pretty reliable, and depends on what your specific needs are. Think about it hard, also about archiving your footage, and plan ahead.
 
The currupt clips thing has happened to users using P2 Log and P2 Genie. It's an OS X bug, not an FCP bug. I've had a bunch of clips show up as corrupt in both of those apps, just like in FCP. But again, it doesn't show up for everyone.
 
Ah ok I didn't know that must be coincidence than that often having trouble inporting via FCP and never when I do it with P2 log
 
I and others have had trouble with all three, FCP, P2 Genie, P2 Log. It happens often on my Quad Core, but almost never on my Powerbook. Go figure.
 
I have had good luck copying P2 as an image on a hard drive and then importing. For whatever reason, that seems to work best for me on my macs.
 
how can I get the drivers for the p2 card,
panasonic web site will not accept my registation number of the camera.
is there ant work around
