P-Tap configuration

So recently I've been 1st AC'ing on more and more HDSLR gigs and notice how annoying it is to have to step away to swing a brick.

So I wanted to make a p-tap battery pack for HDSLR systems and I wanted to know how some of you guys out there have configured your system.

Here are some of the ideas that I have been considering:

All with be mounted with the AB v-mount.

1. AB -> female XLR -> Male XLR -> speaker wires -> Camera, 2 OBM, splitter, and other 12v

2. AB -> p-tap -> junction -> Camera, 2 OBM, splitter, and other 12v

I am also going to be configuring something with the AJA and a downcoverter for clam shells.
