Hey guys, simple question, whats the major difference between the P+S and the Redrock mini? Why such a big gap in price? im looking into buying a 35mm adapter. I have used the P+S on a HVX and got amazing shots but ofcourse the P+S is $7K and the Redrock is only $1K so help me out, thanks.

I have never used a P+S, but from reviews, it seems the M2 loses less light. Although the M2 doesn't flip the image, there are easy workarounds like DV Rack or mounting a Marshall upside down. The best thing though is the price. The M2 is about 8 times cheaper than the P+S!

In my testing with the M2+Nikon 50 F1.2 prime and Mini35+Zeiss SuperSpeed 35 T1.3 the light loss is pretty close to each other.

The Mini35 exhibits less chromatic abbreviation on the HVX, and is a more pleasing green/purple compared to the M2's Blue/yellow.

The M2 win's for it's ability to stop the lens down. Yoy cannot do this at all on the mini 35, or you will ruin the pictures with a soup of slow moving grain.

Also the Mattescreen has a finer structure on the M2 as you are using the full 35mm still frame, and the diffusion creates a more pleasing bokeh.

The gap in price is most likely the CNC milling+better optic's+dealer markup.
If you want to rent it out the Mini35 is a more robust and complete solution.
