the color space is not even the issue
I know this has nothing to do with the thread, but: I spent last weekend shooting BTS for a short film with a Ninja 2 on a C100 on a monopod, running around in bushland in rain and mud for 2 days from 6:30am till 5:30pm each day, with no problems. The Ninja ran out of battery at 4:00pm on the first day but there was less happening on the 2nd day so I managed to extend it to last all day. You do get everything in the Ninja kit ready to use (batteries, charger, 2 caddies), but I'd also recommend getting a sun hood, at least 1 spare battery and if you have more disks then you'll need extra caddies, but that lot should cost less than $100. However, you do have everything you need to use right in the box.Yea, but it is cumbersome, adds weight, need a whole new set of batteries and chargers to maintain and I have to buy it all.
I shoot documentaries, and like to be quick and nimble. It's a pity really. I can forgive all the other shortcomings of the camera, it is unfortunate that Canon decided to cripple it with an inferior onboard codec.
I see banding in the wide DR footage. The C-Log looks best to me, and it appears you can shoot a bit shallower to boot. So c-log is still available while recording internally right? Is the problem with shooting in c-log the complexity of grading, the way grading effects the footage or?? I don't quite understand the problem with the footage. The c-log looks great to me and should grade well as far as I can tell.
What sun hood works for the C100?
