Output DVCPRO HD through firewire?

Hi,

I'm attempting to output an HD feed from my HVX200a into Final Cut pro using log and capture, but this only works if I put my camera into SD recording mode.

Is it possible to use log and capture to capture an HD feed from the HVX200a, or can I only use log and capture for SD?

Yes you can use it in HD mode, as long as you're using FCP 4.5 or later. But you cannot do it in 720pN mode. Use 720p mode or 1080i or 1080p, but not 720pN.

That was my problem. I had it in 720pN. 720p works fine. Why is that?
