I realize that for some reason, the Panasonic Engineers decided that the information on the OSD turns off during recording, giving you the picture but no information. I just can't figure out why? If this is something that can't be avoided (maybe because signals going out 1394 would be recorded and mess up an output) then I guess we're just stuck with it.
I feel that if there was a way around this issue, it would be really important. As an example, there are times when I use my Panasonic 7" monitor attached to my tripod legs when I'm shooting from a high angle. It's important for me to see just what is happening on the monitor. As most of you know if you've tried to do this, the information on the display turns off while recording, and the only place you can see it is on the LCD or eyepiece.
If anyone knows of a workaround, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
eric
