Based on the thread here, I decided to switch to a Sandisk CFast card reader (this one).
It's working fine but I've noticed that when using it, OS X sees CFast cards as hard drives and not media cards. It's not a big deal for video but I also use CFast in a DSLR and it's a hassle there: applications like Image Capture, Photos and Lightroom don't recognize the card. Image Capture is the main problem: I've got some automation setup using Image Capture that renames then moves raw images on import and it's a bummer to lose the ability.
Has anyone seen the same problem and, even better, found out a solution? I see the same thing on two different computers (though running the same OS X version).
Thanks
