Ordering HVX200

Organization I worked for had some money donated for purchasing a 200 along with some other gear. We are currently in the middle of a project (and renting) a 200 and would like to get one here ASAP to avoid any future rental fee's.

B&H and the typical vendors seem to order these items as needed. Any recommendations to any vendors with these (and P2 cards) in stock?

Anybody heard of wallstreetphoto?

It's Amazon's source for selling the HVX200.

A guy on eBay is selling his cam, and he claims wallstreetphoto is authorized.

I can't even find a street address.

HVX Out

I just ordered the HVX 200 after contacting many different vendors. Was told they're out of stock due to some earthquake in Japan. Won't arrive until end of July....

Just ordered one from Abel Cine today. I think they still have a few in stock. They also have 16GB P2 cards in stock today. This was from the LA store.

Abel Cine has given me a heroic runaround the last several days, which is especially interesting since denverdvx was able to purchase yesterday. Friday afternoon I ordered an HVX and two 16-GB cards. They had two cameras and three cards in stock in NYC at that time. They took my CC details and said it would ship Monday.

Monday I called back and was told the camera and cards had already gone out to someone else (and there were none in LA either). They thought they'd have more cameras in a couple weeks. So yesterday I cancelled the order and bought from Full Compass (who had cameras but no P2 cards).

Today I heard back from Abel Cine, saying they had received a new shipment and could sell me the camera and cards. When I said I now only needed the cards they refused to sell them to me. They said they only had one camera and two cards, which had arrived today by themselves direct from Japan and couldn't be split up. Does Panasonic send out single cameras from Japan? Is this business as usual?

ProMedia in Memphis selling them at $4995.00 through July I believe and it is Panny Authorized.

They are back ordered however but that's a great price.

I was looking for a deal on the HVX200 and found one in Ebay. I won one for 4k+ only for the seller to offer me warranty, accessories over 1K. When I declined the added-ons, I was told the order will take 4-6 weeks to process (not even ship), even though the listing showed that there were 5 units available. If you are out on eBay, please beware of these low prices, some of them usually have hidden costs to them. I thought I share my recent experience on my attempt at acquiring the HVX200.

Your experience is typical of all the Brooklyn store fronts, save a few.

It's strong testimony, at least in many people's view here, NOT to buy except Panasonic Authorized.

I contest the auction with eBay and if you paid by PayPal, start a dispute.

not knowing where you live, i picked mine up just two weeks ago in Dallas. Think it took 3 days to deliver since they sold the last one the day i placed my order. Waited 3 days for deliver and picked mine up. They normally have these in stock and would be surprise to learn they sold out that fast. If your in the Dallas area look up www.Videotexsystems.com. Call the office and talk to Barak. Tell him i sent you his way.

HVX arrives today, can't wait to get home and unpack it. Ordered it and 16 gig card from Abel Cine on Monday night and didn't have any problems.

Shawn Tallard at Full compass is cool.

Julian Diaz at AVZ is also real cool.

Ask for them by name, they both give good deals to DVXusers.
