Shrigg's vendor, fullcompass had the best price I could find (and I have been scouring sites and gettings qotes for 2 weeks now): its the first time I have found an authorized retailer beat B&H by such a large margin...and include shipping. Shrigg->
So I finally ordered one. Shrigg and Thomas Lew's footage finaly put my mind to rest. Thanks guys- and now I can shoot my own candlelight clips
Until I could see the clips, I was hesitant based on Panny's CCD pixel numbers compared to Sony's in the $3500 price range. But I am convinced that larger and more sensitive pixels are better for color and noise in the long run, even if its a lower number. Sometimes you have to forget about specs and just look at the footage....
and the proof is in the pudding, and pudding is so delicious

I hope to pay it forward and post clips soon: I will be taking it up north to shoot some nature shots ala Discovery Channel's Sunrise Earth
Batteries are on backorder though, so hopefully the stock one can get me through till then.
