Optar or Sony Cinealta lens

I got that f35 with 07q to weigh as much as a red epic- there are lots of ways to make it as light as humanly possible.

I don't think you'll be using the F35 as a "walk-around" camera. As Tiny Elvis would say, That sucker's big! That said, if you do plan to use it while walking around, a wide angle lens is the way to go. A telephoto would really highlight the shakiness of handheld camera work and should be used on sticks.

LOL Tiny Elvis....totally get what you're saying though. Im thinking of getting an EasyRig just cant quite pull the trigger quite yet....Just seems overpriced but would be perfect to hold the weight of the F35 though

I can't believe no one has made an easyrig clone for $1500 cheaper yet. it doesn't seem like it's the most advanced tool to make. I mean, they can sell a computized gimbal for less.

What kills me is the easy rig spring is $200 dollars and you can swap em, it's just complicated, but to buy a whole new arm it's like $2,000. Which is crazy.

I can shoot all day with an F35 with my setup and it's not TERRIBLE. but has to be shooting from my shoulder. I've been using my easy rig more and more though and it is definitely nice in some cases or when I can't shoot from my shoulder.

I'm not massively fond of the Easyrig - I find that it is a PITA to get it on/off the rig, which means you spend more time with it on your shoulder than if you would normally. The F35 isn't the most convenient of beasts, but it can be relatively balanced with a bit of work

Hey I would love to see a pic of the F35 setup on the EasyRig if you have one to share with us :-)

Since you're into wide angles, I would definitely look into a rehoused Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 PL. An astonishing lens with an epic field of view on s35 cameras, really really wide! I wouldn't buy the 18-35mm sigma unless I really needed the extra f stop, because it's not as wide as the Tokina, only 18 (which is fairly wide but no where near 11mm). And it doesnt go very long only to 35mm so I wouldn't compromise the wide end for thatlittle extra reach. A PL 11-16mm + any 35/50mm prime would cover probably all your shooting needs. That's how I like shoot my films with one wide angle for detailed epic scenery and one fast 50mm prime for everything else, never felt I needed to switch to the 250mm or 35mm or 85mm or 135mm, they set there unused.

If this is going to be Kassim's only lens for a while, I'll have to disagree with you on the 11-16, Ebrahim. It's definitely a wonderful range, but can only be used occasionaly. An 18-35 can be used for both wides and medium close-ups and is therefore much more versatile - in addition to being better in low-light.

Yea I agree totally...but It would be nice having the 11-16 though but not for my only lens. I actually pulled the trigger on the Cinealta 25mm...I didn't think about it until the other day but I actually have a m42 Helios 44-2 58mm and a MIR 1B 37mm. So I'm going to purchase an M24 to PL mount for those 2. It really sucks because I had a whole set of Zeiss ZE primes that I cant use on this system :-( . But Im definitely putting all of your suggestions on my study list so that in a couple months when Im ready for my next purchase I'll be ready. You guys are AWESOME!!! Really appreciate all of your help. Everyone here including Macgregor has helped me find everything needed to get the ball rolling. Im stocked to shoot with this thing

Yes of course I didn't mean the 11-16mm as an only one lens. I couple it with a normal fast prime (35 or 50) and shoot everything with those two even though I have other focal lengths like 25, 35, 85, 135, 250, I find them not very useful when I have a 11-16 + a 50 and they set unused. That's my shooting style though so 100% personal.
