Hello

i have some free time now , and i d like to read and/or watch some lessons about operator technique. i ve been trying to find something my self, but most of what i found is all about: what is iris or how to use zebras,.... and things like that,- what of course is very important, but i ve seen already many of them for the past several years,..... i d like to find something dedicated more to camera work: angles, movements, tricks, and so on... maybe you guys could suggest something?

Regards

The five Cs of Cinematography is a classic. Would also be keen to find some video tutorials on this though.

as a part of that journey i just watched an interesting movie: Cameraman. The Life and Work of Jack Cardiff. its like a journey to the history of cinematograph .... highly recommend it!

+1 (and then some) for the Hollywood Cameraworks DVDs. When it comes to learning, it's drinking from a firehose. There is just so MUCH at such a RATE... it's not a one-session watch. I go through them all once or twice a year.

It's not so much about operator technique, but superb for general 'how to get coverage, where to put cameras, how to develop shots' sort of stuff. If you can forgive the cheesy titles (one can imagine the scene where the title 'The Science... of Awesome!' was cooked up), it's a great investment. :)

Guys i am watching now Digital Cinema Training - Movie Production ! i can only say WOW ! superb course! i highly recommend it to everybody, real scenes that are filmed on set and explained in details! they also have few more lessons : lighting, actor training, gear guide, audio, few more...
i think that even experienced operators will find "Movie Production" lesson useful and interesting! and its not some boring thing, in fact i watch it as a movie, i need to make a pop corn! love it
