I was getting ready to buy a Canon T2i a couple of days ago and noticed the new hack at that time. So, I was then going to get the GH1 because of the hack. Now that I see it may be blocked, I may be going back to the Canon.
Let them think about that scenario for a bit. Especially when they are trying to get into a market that is dominated by Canon at the moment.
I strongly share everyone's sentiment. Am I correct in thinking that I read that Barry was a tester for when the DVX100 was being developed? He would be a great guy to have on board.
+1 Let them have their cake and eat it too. The conference must happen.
Here is my vote as to what should be discussed.
1. Higher bit rate formats from the factory.
2. Digital Zoom with no quality loss for video. If the scaling is done properly then you should be able to zoom digitally with no quality loss since the native resolution is so much higher than even 1080p.
I'm not currently using a GH1 but I support what you are doing and I don't see a downside for Panasonic at this point. Among your target audience, you have made the GH1 (GH13) wildly popular.
ofcourse I support this, as a community we DEMAND that panasonic give us an official stance on this hack. Ofcourse we also HOPE that their stance is a supportive one, but if it is NOT, then we at least want them to man up and stick to their decision so we know WHAT their decision is
