On The Run, Prelude One

Interesting idea for a series. Kind of reminds me of a modern day "Dark Shadows".

Here are my thoughts:

I think many of the shots would benefit by using a tripod. I found it difficult to focus on the content or the storyline because the image was moving around so much. I would also eliminate using the zoom. Either cut to a closeup or dolly the camera.

I think the indoor sceens were a bit too dark and the light seemed like it was coming from a strange direction...as if it was coming through a very low window to the left. But then when you went to the girl tied up on the ground, the light was coming from the right. Using a higher light source would help and more light as well, IMO.

Unfortunately I'm kind of restricted to work lights and a homemade light kit, so the light sources can only stand so high lol. The camera movement and lack of tripod is the style I'm going for specifically, I don't use one for exactly that purpose. You've any tips on how to get lights higher using homemade? Any DIY stands? The stands the worklights come with only come to about chest level, unfortunately!

You can get light stand at a good price. Check ebay or www.amvona.com I've seen a pair of used light stands that normally come with a Lowell light kit (same ones I use) sell on ebay for about $30.

You could alway place your light stands on top of a table to get them higher as well.
