On location...not DVCPro HD!

Can anybody tell if it true?

I have searched all over the Adobe's On Location page but only found references to Dv and HDV!

I own DVRack HD 2.0, and want to know if I'll have a better version with prem Pro CS3.

Thanks.

Very doubtful they would take features OUT of the program...

Im not a betting man, but i think its safe to say OnLocation will support DVCProHD.

Has anyone actually used OnLocation yet? I have been using DVRack with limited success and am also wondering about this upgrade. I edit with Avid and have had trouble importing files from DVRack into Avid. I wonder if the QTAVID format will remain as an option after Adobe gets their hands on it.

Aloha,

Its not out yet, scheduled to be released (as part of Premiere) on July 1.

Emailing (or calling ) Adobe customer support is always an option too.

I believe that DVCProHD was one of the supported formats.

I'm assuming it's going to be through OnLocation, because all of the other beta software for CS3 has no support built in.

I downloaded the trial off the Adobe website. Seems you cannot record to disk with the trial but it clearly supports DVCPRO HD. You just need to select the right setting under the devices tab.

How did you get the On Location trial?

I get the Premiere Pro CS3 from adobe but not Onlocation

Can you give the address?

Thanks.

It works exactly like the demo of DVRACK HD... but now, in my case, in Spanish!!

I have still problems with the support of DVCPRO-HD 720p in PAL version. It looks like it work with 25p or 50p but over 60p. At least this say Final Cut Pro and it don't interpret the footage properly (non quicktime) Any idea about this??

No problem with 1080, like always.

I have downloaded and installed Onlocation... and It works exactly like DVRACK HD 2.0 but also in Spanish wich is one of the Adobe's best improvements.

Every doubt I had, disapeared.

I believe they also removed the terrible activation system from SoftWrap, got rid of the update check on startup that you could not disable (and which goes to non-existing servers anyway now that Adobe is in charge), and there is official Vista support.

The trial version I downloaded also no longer has the QTAVID file format setting. So far, I have been unsuccessful at getting any of the recording formats to work with Avid. Anybody have success with this?

Mine has the QuikTM, I do not use it because I edit in Premiere Pro, so I do not know if it works, I gues it does.

I sugest Download from the same page I did: (thanks to Gregg)

yes, it still has QTIME as a file format, but not QTAVID as it used to. The QT wrapper it is using is not compatible with my Avid system, and strangely neither of the AVI formats are either. I'm still trying to figure this out though.

I wouldn't put it past Adobe to pull support for something that directly benefits one of their competitors.
