On future 5D3, can Magic Lantern up the resolution?

I'd consider the GHx line of cameras with an APS-C (s35) sized senor (or bigger), never going to buy one with 4/3s. The 2X crop is too much of a turn off.

Here is where you are incorrect. Who told you it's 2X crop? Have you ever seen a GH-2 shot side by side with a 7D/550D? I'm not referring to resolution (that's a gimme) but I'm talking FOV.

Problem is we are talking about the 5d here and I shoot wide with Shallow DOF. Not saying you can't achieve that with another camera but No One can tell me that the Gh2 has the same field of view, dof and low light performance as a 5d. The 5d just has a certain image that I love. There's no arguing , I could buy 3 gh2's for the price of a 5d, I simply use what I prefer.
