On Camera Light Recommendations

Hello,

My name is Aaron. I have a canon XH-A1. My main area of focus are wedding videos. I am looking to invest in an on camera light. Does anyone have suggestions for a good quality, but not too distracting on camera light? I need a nice soft light to throw on people's faces while they are walking down the aisle. Keep in mind i dont want to blind them, but i dont want to play with my shutter as much as i have had to.

Thank you in advance for any replies

I'm not too sure about this, but I've heard really good things about the brand Frezzi. They're expensive though. Canon has an onboard mic I think you can get for ~80 online. Its black and has a small light on it if you're looking for something not too obtrusive.

mraaron895, i put an arri 300 way up front somewhere far away with barn door fanned to the asile and/or in the back in a balcony and because the light is an open face and a hot light for video cameras and because it is far away, it provides just enough light to look tremendous. i have used it in roman orthodox chuches where the lights are usually candles with daylight and when the smoke comes in from all that burning incense it gives an astonishing visual effect that my clients beg to get :o)

I'm interested to hear others opinions on this thread. I'm planning on getting a Lite Panels Mini for my HVX200 setup, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I was very impressed with them while shooting for a Discovery show recently. At this point in time, I think you have to go with an LED-based solution, though.

I have the Lite Panel Micro and use it for basically the same type of situations he has described and I love mine! Batteries last forever, cool and dimable the only negative is the construction is not very robust, but I really like mine.

I bought it yesterday @ calumet I needed a light ASAP and I used it all last night and I loved it!
I seen the demo video of that other light someone put on but I think the lite panels work better! I dont think I liked the demo, so I would have to compare myself. The onluy thing I would like of the Dimmer knob was on the back not the top so it wouldn't be so hard to reach...
