Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 with GH2/GH3/AF101

Apologies if this is a naive question but will the new Olympus 40-150 work well with Panasonic cameras (specifically the GH2, GH3 and AF101)? Will the automatic features all work? How about with the 1.4x converter? Anything to watch out for?

I'd really like to replace my Panasonic 14-140 and a couple of my longer legacy lenses with something faster. I have the wider end covered as I want it, but the 14-140, while great for outdoors in the sun and controlled light work, doesn't cut it for interior jobs like events where I can't control the light.

Advice welcomed :-)

Yes, any of the Olympus PRO lenses will work with Panasonic m4/3 cameras, but the Olympus Lens Function button won't do anything with a Panasonic camera, and you may have to wait for a Panasonic body firmware update before the Panasonic bodies will properly apply automatic image correction. ( i.e. Distortion / CA / Vignetting corrections )

No OIS, so very likely you'll need a tripod, there's not going to be in-camera CA correction (distortion and vignetting correction is part of the m4/3 standard so that'll always be there), and on the GH4 and future cameras that utilise it, no DFD.

THanks for the responses. Tripod is a given as my primary issue is when shooting low light interiors. I just watched a shootout between the Olympus and the Panasonic 30-100 f2.8. I'm torn . . .!

If you'll always be using a tripod, go for the longer lens. Never heard of anyone complaining about having extra reach on tap, and the lens isn't that heavy.
