I am trying to get a new lens for my gh3. I see indymogul loves the sigma 30mm lens with that expensive adapter. Does this allow the camera and lens to work in auto focus/aperture mode?

i also like the look of the Olympus 45mm, since this is a 4/3 lens, do the auto functions work with a gh3?

any preference between the 2?

If you mean the Olympus Zuiko 45mm f1.8 lens it is a m4/3 lens not a 4/3, and it is "native" to the Panasonic and Olympus m4/3 cameras meaning autofocus, auto and manual exposure control work with the Panasonic and Oly bodies (including the GH3). This lens is a much sought after "portrait perspective" lens with excellent contrast, clean image quality, and excellent sharpness including wide open.

I have one and it's met all expectation I've had.

Thanks looks like a great lens for interviews. I feel like the sigma 30mm might be a better focal length for me to rotate between interviews and filmmaking. Anyone know if the sigma would work with auto focus, and a link to the correct lens/adapter?

Thanks!

OK, now I know what lens you're talking about. It is made in a few mounts to fit Canon, Nikon, and Sigma DSLRs. While they will fit the GH3 with an appropriate adapter I don't believe you will have auto focus or other auto functions.

You will be far far better off with the Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f1.4 at close to the same price. The Summilux 25mm is a m4/3 lens and will fit the GH3 with no adapter needed. It is a very sharp clean image quality lens well worthy of having Leica in it's name. I have one and it balances well on the GH3, and under the right conditions Continuous Autofocus works well. This is one of my favorite lenses.

It's been discounted for awhile but it looks like the price has gone back up to $569 which is what I paid for mine last year. Amazon does list some used starting around $489 or so, worth checking out.

Well worth every penny!
