GH2 Olympus 12mm f2.0 + Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.4 OR Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 lens?

I have the Olympus 12mm f2.0 lens and the Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.4 lens and have been thinking if I should sell these and go for the Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 lens? Just wanted to get peoples opinion on whether the new Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 lens would be an adequate replacement for these lenses.

I have been using my two lenses primarily for wedding videography. I have been very happy with the Olympus 12mm for steadicam work - the autofocus works pretty well (not perfect but good enough).

But then at times I want to zoom in and don't want the trouble of changing lenses all the time when something is happening and I have to go from a steady cam wide angle shot to a more zoomed in shot.

What do you guys think? Will the new Panasonic 12-35mm lens be a worthy replacement for these lenses. Would the f2.8 be adequate for low light shooting? And would the autofocus be just as good as the Olympus 12mm at 12mm as well as for portrait shots compared to the Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.4?

You didn't say if you have one or two Gh2 bodies. Using two bodies reduces the need to lens-swap.

For weddings and events I'd probably use my two Gh2 bodies this way: 12mm f2.0 with the steadicam rig (permanent) and a zoom on the other.

The only problem with a zoom on a steadicam is that zooming a lens may alter the balance of the rig.

From what I've read the 12-35 2.8 might be as good as the two primes you have, but receptions and banquets tend to be low light situations, and a f1.4 would be essential.

I saw a test (dunno where) and the zoom was amazing... matching some of Olympus's primes.

Totally forgot where I saw it.

Camcorder to go with your m43 camera. Zoom, plus effective IS and face and exposure tracking.

How often do you open up wider than 2.8?

If the answer is "often," then stick with the primes.

If the answer is "rarely/never," then enjoy the 12-35, because on the GH it absolutely kicks ass.
