Olympus 12-40 on GH3

Rented this lens and posted a thread about it in October - the AF was not that great and the latitude I found to be poor - to the point that if I wanted to put on the 14-42mm kit lens for outdoor shots (for a wedding I shot) just to get better AF/Latitude. Great close focus but really PALES by LIGHT YEARS to the Panny lens.

What do you mean by latitude? Dynamic range? I asked you that in another thread and you haven't clarified.

Constant aperture is extremely useful within a scene. Getting a lens like this was in order to avoid swinging non-matching lenses during a shoot.
So far I'm pretty impressed with it.
I haven't noticed any issues with latitude, which is more a property more associated with the imaging sensor.

i dont know about this exact lens but i know every other olympus lens focuses as fast as any panasonic lens. You lose image stabilization but my 45mm olympus and 75mm olympus might focus fastest out of my lens set. The camera store did a time test of focusing between the olympus omd and panasonic gh4 using the 35-100 and the 40-150. They swapped lenses on each camera and said the lenses focus on the other camera bodies equally as fast as on their own. So i wouldnt worry about focusing speed at all.
