Olympic Addiction

Oh. Could be many things. Burnout. Past his peak. Distraction. Health. A combination of any or all.

Not new ground by a formerly dominant player by any means.

Plus, the smell of blood in the water. His intimidation factor against other players has taken a tremendous hit.

Well, the gold medal tennis match is basically tomorrow's semi -- Djoko vs. Nadal. Whoever doesn't win will surely take the bronze.

Those chinese girls in gymnastics yesterday all looked like they were 12. No way they were all 16, maybe 2 of them.

There is absolutely no way some of those girl are 16. Reports have come out of China that some are 13 or 14. These are quickly "corrected." Problem is that the IOC accepts passports as proof of age. Wonder who "issued" those passports?

Thing is, some of those girls may have actually have been told they're older than they are. Considering they've been wards of the state since they were three, with very little outside contact, they may not know better, either.

The US team had too many big mistakes to deserve gold -- but then, cheating isn't an honorable victory.

Hmm. I don't follow volleyball, but I used to play a fair amount of it in the last decade . . . when did the rules change so that you can score on your opponent's serve?

It is rally scoring... Not that I knew that, just from listening and watching. I guess they implemented it within the last 5 years to speed the game up and to conform with the short attention span of the world.

It's pretty freaking incredible how you are technically more of an offensive team when receiving instead of serving. Just incredible.

Yet, they still refer to side outs. I suppose that still means a change of serve.

It would be difficult to dispute it credibly, yes. :)

Though I'm sure someone will accuse him of doping.
I think you just did.

j/k :D

I think when someone blows away everyone else in the world that it is a thought in the back of their mind. I think he's great for the sport though. Very exciting to watch!
Naturally gifted for sure.
