This is a link to a video I shot with my a1. The stills were shot with a Nikon D50. Edited in FCS2.

This was done as a reel builder, and as a "web trailer" for a reenactment group my parents are a part of. I'm trying to get some footage together to obtain some paying gigs.

Any critiques on how to make it better would be appreciated. Likes and dislikes also appreciated.

I'm new to video and editing, (October 07) and am trying to learn as much as possible,
So......Hit me with the advice.

thanks,

Mike W.

I liked the concept, but your progression is a little scattered. You have some good ambiance shots and you have some good shootout shots. You jump back and forth and never build the tension which should culminate in the gunfights.

I'd also set up the action with a v/o. Sam Elliot would be perfect, but you might look for someone with good delivery that can sound like a cowboy. You might want to find some music to match the mood and builds to the shootouts.

I think you have a good start. You can work with it to make it better.

Remember, my advice is worth even less than what you paid for it. I might be bright or I might be an idiot. I have no confirmation either way. [grin]
