Old school Sony FX1 and Z1U + Sony HVR-MRC1

What was the maximum resolution possible to Compact Flash with these old 3CCD joints?

I take it the Sony HVR-MRC1 was specifically designed to capture native 1080p from the Z7P as it clipped onto the back. However Sony made a protocol that you could connect iLink FireWire with the older models. However, I can’t find information for progressive 1080p with the Z1U.

The HVR-Z1U was only ever capable of progressive PLAYBACK in SD format. In both SD and HD it was only an interlaced format RECORDING camera to the best of my knowledge. The Z7P was capable of 1080p recording in the HDV format with the Memory Recording Unit (HVR-MRC1). That unit did have an IE1394 (Firewire) port available when not mounted to a camera but would only record 1080i from an HVR-Z1. Again all this is from some very fading memories of these units but I think my recollections are pretty accurate.

FYI, if memory serves me right, not only is the Z1U not a progressive camera in HD, it is also not full HD. It records in an anamorphic 1440x1080 format.
