OK, Who's using P2 on a Mac G5 with PCIexpress ?

Lets see how many of us are using G5 Mac's with PCIe and get some numbers up for some developer to see that there is a demand for a P2 reader as the Amtron P2 Card reader, but for our G5 towers.
My SIIG card works great in my Old G4 PCI, But my main edit platform is a G5 (PCIe) so I'd be the first to get one.

G5 users, PUT YOUR HANDs UP ....

Looks as if not many G5 Mac users out there , or maybe they are to busy to post?

My G5 is backed close to a wall, buried underneath a ton of other gear, and thus has no easy access to the rear panel. Nonetheless I'd love to have the ability to plug P2 cards into it. Does anyone know of a P2 compatible reader module that can be cabled a few feet away from the CPU?

I have a G4 Powerbook that gets me there otherwise, but a desktop solution for the G5 would sure be nice.

Actually I'm using the pasansonic P2 store/reader-it works great, but a little pricey. I got it used with my camera. Guy threw it in to seal the deal :)
Sorry, no quite what you were asking.

Hi Bill,
You maybe the closest to a possible solution, is it possible for you to get a-- http://www.amtron.com/reader/pcdtp110cs.htm
and plug it into your G5 via your Optical ATA cable (The DVD/CD Burner) without using the Amtron supplied PCI card, and report back to us all ?, I imagine it may just work, No doubt there will be techno minded people chim in and tell us it won't work, BUT HEY it's worth a try isn't it. To me it's just a ATA connected device.
Cheers for a reply
all us G5 users will consider you a "god" if it reads the P2 cards.:dankk2:
