OK, now tell me why I should keep my AF100 which doesn't even really get me full 1080 res. Buh Bye Panny.
game changing
Well if you've been using your AF100 to make money and compete with others in this field who are good at their craft, you're probably going to be able to afford Scarlet or be strongly considering the implications. What it brings is game changing at that price point. If you're a hobbyist or dabbling, I agree that Scarlet is probably not what you're looking for.
The rest of my support equipment, monitors, matte box, Nanoflash, and the list goes on, far exceed the af100 at this point in terms of investment.
+1Man all the camera forums are going to be full of pointless threads following today.
+2Time to take a break from camera forums till the madness calms down!

Ummm... did I miss something? Since when did the AF100 not shoot full 1080 resolution?
As to why you should keep it, that's only a decision you can make. As to why *I'm* keeping mine, because 1) I just bought, I don't need to be buying another camera yet2) Forking out $15,000+ to get Scarlet fully up and running just to shoot corporate web videos seems like a bit of overkill. 3) 4k and Red Raw for corporate web videos is a bit of overkill 4) The AF100 will do 80% of what Scarlett will do, and that other 20% just isn't that important to me.
It's two different markets. Scarlet, at $10k for just a brain, is in the same market as the F3 and C300. If you are seriously considering getting a Scarlett, and willing to fork out that much extra cash to get it up and running and actually functional... what were you doing with an AF100 in the first place? Sounds like a Sony F3 with S-Log was more in line with what you would should have bought.
