Ogio Ty Video Bag - rememberdelware.com

Do the kata bp 502 and burton f-stop have laptop compartments? If they do what size can they fit?

Thanks for the info

I was under the impression that the 17" Powerbook G4 and Macbook Pro's didn't fit in the Ty bag, it says "fits most 17" laptops" but I'd heard that didn't include the 17" Apple beasties.

Can anybody confirm or deny this? Also, what other bag will fit a HVX, Digital SLR Body and Lens and one of the laptops mentioned above?

I got my Ty Video 2 from ebags.com. It was $135 shipped. Anyhow, I almost feel liek the bag is too big. It fits my PD150, PD170, lenses, mics, laptop and all kinds of other accessories and everything is still loose in it. I was also pretty disappointed by the flimsy straps and the zippers when I got it, and the velcro and dividers inside suck as well. Nothing has broken yet, and with some work I've managed to get the cameras to fit more snugly. The HVX however fits in the bag very nicely (had to try someone elses).

Point is that it's not a bad bag, but it's no lowepro.

Oh and lipslide I will check tomorrow if the 17" apple laptops fit, my 15.4 MBP slides around in it, so the 17s should fit.

where do you suggest buying the burton fstop bag from? i cant even find it on burtons site.

burton f-stop bag isn't for sale anymore, last time they made them for the public would have been like 2003. a friends of mine who works there snagged one for me. but they maybe come out again for next season.

in the one i have there is a sleeve for shovel or whatever, but for airport i can just squeeze my 12' powerbook, so they might not be ideal. i imagine if it comes out for retail it maybe be upgraded for laptops.

bp 501 will hold an hvx and slr + accessories, and a 17incher.
its a big pack but super comfy.

has anyone noticed how similar the cinebag camera pack and the burton zoom pack are???
exxxactly the same i do believe.

I have the Ty bag. Got it off Zappos.com. Paid a bit more for it, but I knew I could rely on the free overnight shipping.

I like the bag - I needed something that would allow me to carry-on 2 HVXs on an airplane in one bag. I can fit 2 HVXs, 2 Firestores, Batteries, Mics, Tapes, cables, etc. I even strap on 2 cheap lightweight tripods and carry the whole thing onto the plane.

I've been on one trip with it so far and it worked out really well. The only thing is it is REALLY heavy - it's like strapping a giant box onto your back. This isn't much of an issue if you just need to walk from the car to the location or around an airport. Just don't expect to go backpacking through Europe with this thing loaded up with gear.

I would love to have this same functionality in a rolling bag. It looks like Lowepro has some options.... I may look into that.

I agree dave8888:

I just returned from a shoot in Florida yesterday and lived out of the Ogio as far as my production gear. Great size but really uncomfortable and pain to hike around the beach and through the jungle with.

The zipper on the main compartment is starting to go, I will probably get the CineBags to replace the Ogio soon. I was happier with the CineBags DV-20 overall than with this Ogio although the Ogio holds a lot more.

I ordered mine this ... april I think or march... an I had it shipped to Ireland, no problems... it took them about 10-12 days but it arrived in perfect shape!

Still holding off on purchasing the Ogio Ty Bag as I'm not sure if my 17" powerbook G4 will fit in the Laptop Compartment.

Has anybody fit an Apple 17" laptop in one of these bags?

What a shame. . .

Thanks for the info though, just saved me quite a bit of heartache!

Seems strange to me that they would design a bag that doesn't fit the 17" Apple laptops. Working in the action sports video industry, I know so many people using them.
