T2i Offset baseplate for T2i?

So as much as I love my T2i, there has been one consistent issue. Changing the battery.

If I have a quick release plate on it, then it covers up the battery compartment and I have to unscrew the plate off.

If I have a DSLR baseplate on it then I need to take it completely off the baseplate to change the battery.

Is there any sort of offset baseplate that can move the camera more to the right so you can easier access the battery compartment?

I feel stupid for asking but I'm not exactly sure what it's supposed to do. Its hard to tell from the picture and it doesn't really describe the function too well.

Might want to think about the Giottos 652. Like the manfrotto J Davis mentioned above its a quick release plate but a pop up style instead of the sliding style. Has a smaller foot print and if you rotate it 90 degrees (slot goes side to side) this might allow you to offset the camera enough to pull the battery without pulling the camera off your rig (or tripod). Might be an option.

We have a video that shows some information on it. Might help to visualize how it might work with your situation; At the 3 minute mark it goes over the 652 QR system.

Use a file on the quick detach plate so that you can open the battery door without the need to unscrew it. Unfortunately you will still need to detach it from your rig to swap out batteries.

That music is so silly. Lol

That is exactly what I'm looking for. If not exactly than definitely the closest I've found.

So how much is that whole setup in the video?

How much for that whole setup you had in the video?
