Odyssey7 & Odyssey7Q Status Update

Please Mitch, allow me to re-type my question :

I haven't found it on the manual nor do I remember seeing it on the various threads (and I've read every single pages on dvxuser regarding the OD7Q) but is it possible to output 4K via the SDI's ?

I want to use 4x SDI's and convert them to HDMI (2.0?) via the AJA and Blackmagic converters to output at least 4096x2160 24P on a Sony 4K TV.

Thanks for your answer.

No, we do not output in 4K. The upcoming Athena will do this.

I believe you said there'd be an NAB announcement about the O7 shipping?
Yes, I think it may have buried in this or another thread.

The Odyssey7 will begin shipping in limited quantities in May. We should be out of our current backorder by the end of the summer.

So there is alot of talk about the higher framerates, but what about the lower.? With the internal recording on the fs700 I often do 1 or 2fps (via the S&Q button) whitch is great for timelapses. looks sweet with a low shutter! - but when in raw mode I can't seen to get that option on the camera. Is there something I'm missing or is there some way around to have the 7q use it's wonderful 4k2HD option to record those lower framerates??

I mentioned that to CD a while back as being a useful feature. The issue is that Raw does not work with the S&Q button (i.e. the camera doesn't output a Raw stream in that mode) - however I did point out they could just set the O7Q to capture Raw frames at set intervals (actually making it more useful than S&Q since you might want a farm every 2 secs).

However, Dan Keaton did state on DVinfo recently that this feature will be available in a future firmware update - so I'm guessing that I (or someone else) has prompted them to look into development...

Very good to hear. Thank you for clarifying.! Fingers crossed - will be very useful if they made that available.

A timelapse mode is on our roadmap.

Please make it so that you can do animation as well! Meaning that you can capture a frame pressing a button when you wish (as opposed to pre-set intervals only).

I'd be extremely happy if the FS700 record button would allow one frame capture. I do frame by frame shoots often where I walk with the camera and shoot frames as I go.

:)

Any word on when the website will be able to provide an activation code so I can use my new 7Q ?? All tech support contact numbers are full of messages and not able to take new requests for helping with this issue.

That is correct, and yes we do need to make it more clear.
