Odyssey Firmware 2015.7

Error on CD Website: LUT download labeled "FS700 Davince Resolve LUT (4.10.100)" is actually FS7 LUTs

Where can I download the new exposure compensation LUTs mentioned in the release notes? Are they contained within the new firmware update?
They are contained in the new update. They should appear in the PreSets menu, and are available in the LUTs Library on our website. In fact we were already providing these LUTs in the downloadable presets, but now are pre-loading them into the Odyssey because we feel many people would enjoy their use.

Mitch, plans to support the 2tb Samsung 850 Evo and pro?
We are getting samples from Samsung to test. This testing is a long & drawn out process as we need to stress test the SSDs on a series of different modes and requirements and we need to do so repeatedly under various conditions. Such testing simply takes time.

Received my 2 x Samsung 850 EVO 1TB drives today (by the way they are definitely labeled as 1TB, not 1000GB - both on the box and the drives themselves, but to be fair it shows as 1000GB on the 7Q+).

Screwed on the CD SSD handles and tested them in the 7Q+. They work absolutely fine - just tested a 4K recording, played it back both on the 7Q+ and also on my Mac - perfect!

It may be my imagination, but the Samsung drives feel lighter in weight than the CD 256GB drives that came supplied with the 7Q+. The drives are so light I really don't see the need for the superglue - the screws hold the handles on perfectly fine, and there is very little stress on the drives when I pull them out. However I expect Mitch would not sanction such rebellious actions though! :-)

It indicates I can record 5 hours 16 mins of ProRes LT 4K 25p on each drive!

So overall, so far, very happy indeed!

(please excuse the quality of the quick phone images)

^Good lord I sure hope you have someone else sorting selects for you... when you shoot 10.5hrs of footage

Ha ha, true that! I do shoot corporate events a few times a year, so there are times when I record a few hours in one go, so you never know! Having 4K will give me options, but the storage space will be a consideration for sure!

Anyway, 10.5 hours is the limit for 4K. See below photo showing the time allowance for HD (ProRes LT)!!! :cheesy:

This is my Odyssey7Q with the Movcam bracket, plate and the Westside AV Odyssey hood with the 4" cover. The Odyssey just got a pair of 1TB Samsung 850 Pro SSD's. I'm quite happy with the new updates from CD and can't wait for my 7Q+ to arrive tomorrow.

Sorry to place it here in the update thread:
Are the handles for Samung SSDs exactly the same as for the proprietary CD SSDs? Are they glued at the CD SSDs?
I ask, because here in Germany the handles seem not to be available, but I am going on a trip, recording long footage on 2x CD SSDs and a 1TB EVO - and I would be fine with screwing the handle off (one time) from the CD SSDs after its full and change to the Samsung SSD. Rather than copy the terrabyte between the SSDs on a slow USB2.0 notebook.

BTW - Could you imagine a "copy" function for a coming firmware update? I would like to record important events on one holy proprietary CD SSD only and duplicate those important clips to the second CD or a Samsung SSD, immediatly as backup before transportation/flight.

I removed a handle from my C-D SSD and screw it on again. Be careful when tightening the screws. If you screw to far the plastic will brake. (Nach fest kommt ab.)

The handles look identical to me to the ones that come pre-attached to the CD SSDs. I assume they are glued on to the original CD SSDs. But as I mentioned in an earlier post I see no reason to glue them on to the new SSDs, they are gripped very securely with just the screws, and withstand being pulled out of the Odyssey no problem (with my experience so far that is). This way if you have to remove the handles in future it will be much easier.

I followed the direction and used the supplied super glue and then put in the screws. Logic says just using the screws should be fine but my take was if I used the super glue i wouldnt have to crank down on the screws therefore i wouldn't risk damaging the hard drives by over tightening. As far as the comparison between the CD SSD handles and the handle kits you can buy I would say they are the exact same.
