Odyssey 7Q+ SSD reader from the box - is it POS?

So im trying to copy my footage from my SSDs to the backup media. But the SSD reader that shipped with the Odyssey 7Q+ keeps throwing me an I/O error after about 35% transfer. It gets incredibly hot, and i need to let it cool before i reconnect it and it can continue.

Havent tried my higher quality SSD reader in my office yet, as im just offloading to backup media at home right now.

Anybody else had this issue? Im worried it might be the SSD that shipped with the Odyssey as well. I recieved it just a few weeks ago.
 
Sounds like there's definitely a problem here, and of course we will address it under warranty. I'm not qualified to evaluate where the issue lies, so I ask that you please contact our Tech Support to address this. There is contact info on our website. You can also PM me here and I will work to make sure this is looked into promptly.
 
OK, please know that our Tech Support staff is there to help. We may be able to suggest ways to determine where the issue lies, and then we can move to address it.
