And on that tender, sweet and positive note, I shall let everyone know that what is being debugged is something that will be of great interest and use to you -- FS700 owners. Yes we could have released a firmware already, but you would not have been satisfied and others may not have either. So in part (because there was something else that needed attention as well) when we realized we were thisclose to getting that important function in we decided it was too important not to include.
BTW, in completing this function, we have discovered and implemented some improvements in another function that you all have been using for some time and many seem to really enjoy. More on that soon as well.
There is light at the end of the tunnel. This will not go on forever. You will be pleased when we do finally release the firmware.

Apart from the delays most of us are damn happy. Especially for the 4K2HD mode. That mode alone is whats keeping my interest in the FS700+O7Q vs. FS7 at the moment. I need to see the FS7 4K2HD quality before i decide.
However delays do have that effect that people get angry, no matter the cause or end result.
What do you expect, Mitch? Your product was sold on lies and it doesn't function properly. It freezes, turns off, doesn't play back and only does half of what you promised it would. But hey, SH!T happens hey? Very professional.
Do you REALLY expect to have happy customers?

Does someone regulate these forums? My threshold for ignoring this type of behaviour has ended. There should be a level of respect and maturity upheld in these conversations. Clean it up.

He would have been pretty happy to learn the 4K Raw came along shortly after that. To be honest, at the time I was more pissed off to be waiting for the recorder. I've been pretty happy since I received it however.

Yeah things do seem a little out of hand and off topic sometimes. Then again this is an internet forum and it may not be totally inappropriate for professional users to provide positive or negative feedback about relevant tools/manufacturers. People are going to get a bit emotional when their investments and expectations leave them disappointed. I'm sure some of the outrage is because CD keeps having more of the same engineering problems a year later and don't seem to have fixed the process. But hopefully they will begin to prove they have it figured out.
Hopefully CD won't take it too personally and just use the feedback to fix their problems and make their products better or at least do better next time.

I have two issues here. First - the definition of soon is being stretched beyond reason. Second, CD is now saying they're not sure if it's possible to record 4k @ 60fps. That is simply unacceptable considering that's the reason many of us bought the 7Q in the first place.

This update was promised to FS 700 users and then c500 users a bit later, while I have come to accept the fact that sony users will always get preference from CD over canon users, is this new hangup with the sony side going to push the canon update even further back? Or is it sony specific and if so the canon should be ready to go given the original dates promised and if it is can you make it available? Are c500 users always gong to be in line behind fs700 users?

Yeah, even with the delays, this camera is semi-pro-ish in functions and most importantly PRO in video quality all because of CD. 4K RAW (as big as it is) and 4K2HD brings tears of joy to my eyes every time I use it.
So yeah... I've done my share of bitching, but I'm sure damn glad the 7Q came out. I look at AVCHD now, and I just want to barf.
But please be quick as 4K compressed would be really useful and some more bug fixes would be great.

We don't even have the 4K/RAW update to our FS700 yet. In a HD world, I still consider the 7Q to be worth every penny.

I actually cant believe we dont have 4k ProRes yet. I remember telling people a year ago when I bought this thing it's on it's way, they said it's coming soon. And here we are a year later and still wondering why it hasn't come yet. Yes, a great monitor and good recording features, but definitely surprising they are unable to deliver on this promise.

What you don't understand that obtuse line of thinking Mitch? It's a plan for Convergent and Sony to make more money. So what you already support two 4k cameras, and never mind that the GH4 and A7s are 4k cameras, the FS7 is the coup de gras! These threads just devolve into nonsense.
