No, it will not all be CG eventually. Actual live, human actors will always have a place, and CG will always have its place.
...no, there is too much. Let me sum up. Buttercup is marry Humperdink in little less than half an hour, ...
I completely disagree. CGI only plays a major role in big budget productions, and that is going to get shrunken down given the economy and studios trying to save money.
Ode's skill is in computer engineering. That does not mean he can immediately transfer that into CGI. He made no mention of doing CGI at all, on the contrary. You said he should take his computer engineering knowledge and mold that into CGI because all films are going to be CGI one day.
First, that will not be the case. You could have said that all films would be animation one day back when Walt Disney first started. They all have their place, and one will not completely envelope the other.
Plus, there are many different levels of CGI work. Some is just compositing on live action, others are developing the entire frame in CG. These are two different skillsets. He should, obviously, learn how to shot for compositing if, and when, he gets to that point, but he has plenty of time. What he needs to do now is concentrate on developing a watchable film, the most difficult aspect of that business.
And it's a whole lot easier to be a one-man band on a live action feature film than it is to be on a CGI feature.
The advice to learn CGi is completely useless if he has no desire to be in that realm. I have a strong comp sci background, but I have no desire to learn CGI. I've played with 3D Studio and don't have enough passion to take the time to learn it.
Hey at least he didn't ask how to get rich now that he has a camera.
Did anyone mention the $50.00 initiation fee that the noobs have to pay to every existing member?
I believe it's in the first chapter of the DVXuser Noob manual.
