NTSC 720 24pn vs PAL 720 24pn

Hello all,
If a client is in Pal country, such as the UK, and hire me to shoot somthing for them here in the US (NTSC) in HD will they have issues on their end using FCS? I know FCS will edit either format, but when it comes time to project the footage, or burn it to DVD. What then?

I am assuming 720 24pn is the way to go, vs. 1080 24pa (since the 1080 is carried over a 60i stream)

Thanks,
Phil

I'd ask the client- but if you have an NTSC HVX you can only shoot one way anyway.

Well, I can shoot 1080 24p/pa or 720 24pn

I am guessing here that the 720 24pn is the wiser choice as it is not carried over a 60i stream.

If they're going to edit, it doesn't actually matter -- you can give them either, and they'll conform it on their end to what they need when they output.

But yes, ask them which one they want.

Yes, I didn't actually say this before, but the client is in on the discussion. I am not in the habbit of shooting whatever and handing it over, with a "good luck" attatched.

Thanks,
Phil

well it would also depend if they're cutting in FCP. If yes- then sure shoot 24pN. If no find out what they want to deliver when it's done. 24p in general convert to 25 pal fairly well but I'd suggest they go ahead and rent you a PAL HVX200 so that the footage is ready to use immediately.

Does The Nattress stds converter work well transferring pal to ntsc and vice versa with DVC pro 50 and DVCPRO100 formats?
