NTG-2/M3 Hissing/Humming Problems??

After reading about audio in the sticky's, and elsewhere, I have a better understanding of audio. I've already read most of the other forums suggested by others, so maybe I'm not looking/reading enough into it. So this leads me to my question. I have a Canon A1 with the Rode NTG-2 and M3, both of which sound great in close proximity. However, as I read in other post, I am picking up an annoying hissing/bzzz'ing sound. I have tried using the ATT. and HPF, phantom power vs internal mic power, different xlr cables, but I still pick up that noise. I've recorded outside, away from electronics, aside from my camcorder, and yes, the same thing. I THINK I have tried everything, but then again, probably not. I would rather not invest in a portable audio mixer, due to the investment I just made in the mics. Any suggestions on fixing what is most likely an easy problem??

I am pretty sure that noisy hiss, hum is the preamps of the camera try recording with and without the mic plugged in but leaving the camera with xlr selected and see if the hiss is still recorded when it should be silent. The hiss is still there with my camera and i have the rode ntg 2 and 1.

I've just finished a 7 minute short where I used an NTG-2 and I got the hiss too. I have currently sent the sound to a sound technician to see what can be done.
