Now... THIS is a birthday present!

Congrats Brandon! Good luck to you and your bride-to-be.

When my wife and I got married everybody (seriously everybody, even complete strangers on the street we had never met) gave us the same piece of advice: "Never go to sleep angry at each other." Apparently meaning that if you're in the middle of an argument you resolve it before the day is done, no matter how long that takes.

That's the stupidest piece of advice I've ever been given.

I found that even my most trusted friends had terrible advice for my marriage life. Trust yourselves. That's my advice. Which, by definition stated in this thread, is bad advice. And now I'm confusing myself. Anyway, congrats. Enjoy it.

Here's a practical list of advice--

Put the toilet seat down.
Hang up your towel.
Throw your underwear in the hamper.
Put your dishes in the dishwasher.
Remember her birthday.
Wear cologne, and let her pick it.
When she asks "Do I look fat?" always answer immediately and convincingly, "No, you look beautiful."
When she complains, don't try and solve her problems, just nod empathetically and hold her.
Cook dinner every now and then.
Don't scream like a girl when you see a rodent or insect.
Say, "I love you" at least once a day.

Congrats dude!

It won't be too long when you'll realize that some mornings you'll wake up grumpy ... and the rest of the time you'll just let her sleep in

Your mileage may vary, but I find that treating a marriage like an unending date makes things a lot of fun. We've been dating/married that way for eleven (possibly twelve) years now and I can't recommend it highly enough.

we can give brandon the practical advice about marriage in this thread and start another one for the sex tips. :Drogar-Shock(DBG)::2vrolijk_08:

Yeah, I was telling her the other day how I'm going to do my best to continue studying her and learning how to better meet her needs and make her happy. It should NEVER EVER stop once you're married, it should be even MORE important. :)

and.. here's us this last week... :D
