noob question: EOS cameras and lenses

i've looked around but couldn't find my answer, so here goes....

1) I know the EOS Rebel series are smaller cameras, but do they take the same lenses as the larger cameras like the 7D??

2) and do EOS cameras have adapters for other manufacturers like Nikon, etc..?

i put off my 7D purchase...and this might be what i buy..seems like a no-brainer for the price.

thaaaanks!!!

1) Except for the full-format cameras (1d and 5d) all EOS cameras take EOS EF and EOS EF-S lenses. EF-S lenses are cheaper because they are designed to only cover the smaller APS-C sensor area. So you can't use EF-S lenses on the 5D for example.

2) There are lots of options out there. Take a stroll around the lenses section in this forum and you will find many answers that help to get you good gear for little money.

not really.
i used a 10-22 on my 5dmk2 a while back for quite a while with no issues except vignetting under 13mm

Well the border resolution is less then in the center, especially on the EF-S lenses. And when you use a larger lensor you even further the border.

yeah, i didnt notice a change at all. and iv used that combo on a few well paid shoots. customers were thoroughly happy (im a photographer by trade)
