Noob question about the dvx-100b viewfinder

Sorry guys, I've read the manual, but I can't figure out how to do three things.

1.) Every time I look through the viewfinder, Whatever i'm looking at comes in black and white. It's in fine color in the LCD viewfinder, but through the direct viewfinder, everything is black and white. I've messed around with it, but I can't fix it. Can any of you direct me on how to manually adjust it?

2.) How do you charge the internal battery? Do you need a DC adapter? How can you connect your camera to the Battery Charger? (I think the guy who sold it to me forgot to include it).

3.) what type of firewire cable would you need to connect your Dvx-100b to a 27' IMAC? Is it a 9 pin by 4 pin? If so, do you guys know of any websites that sell cables for a decent price?

1: Menu>Display Setup>EVF Color>ON
2: You need a charger, if he didnt include it, see if he'll send it to you. If not, I'm sure someone on here has an extra they'd let you have for cheap or free. I would but I only have one.
3: 4 to 6 pin is what your lookin for. Try CablesDirect. Or theres always eBay. Little tip on the firewire connection; NEVER plug the fw cable into the camera while the camera is powered ON. It can potentially fry the fw port on the camera.

4 to 6 pin? are you sure? I bought one and it wouldn't fit in the back of the cable. The guy at the camera store didn't know much about it but told me that I might need a 4 to 9 pin.

the camera uses 4-pin
the pc uses 6 or 9 pin
so make sure u know what you have on your computer.

As far as where to buy firewire, got all the cables for my fam's home theater- mostly hdmi- from monoprice.com. Their legit, but they have some redic good deals. You might check there.

i'm also trying to figure out how to replace the battery for the remote control.

where do you find one to buy exactly?
 
I have the 27" iMac too. You need a 4-pin to 9-pin cable. I got mine at the apple store, but you can get them at a lot of places. You can get one at best buy, or a similar store. Or, online, though you don't need to deal with shipping if you buy local. As far as I know, for charging the internal battery, you plug the DC cord into the DVX which goes into the external battery charger. You let it sit (off) for about 4 hours.
