I hate to ask this question because it's probably such an easily answered and obvious one but...

What is the process of checking the record/usage life of a used HVX200?

Just check the Freerun time code?

I am attempting to ascertain the current value of my semi-new HVX...?

No, the freerun timecode can be reset, it has no real bearing on camera usage.

If the camera is in tape mode, you can review the number of tape head hours in the OTHER FUNCTIONS menu. With firmware V4.05 or later, the OTHER FUNCTIONS menu also displays the total power-on hours if the camera is in P2 mode.
 
If my camera has 262 hours on it, about how much resale value has it lost?

I purchased it new for $5,200.00...

Or, how do I figure this out, is there a HVX depreciation rate readup anywhere?
 
Not like a Blue Book for automobiles.

It's hard to estimate what any cam will bring.

Obviously, anthing sub 100 will be optimal, but no spreadsheet exists.
