I see what you mean in the Background - but the hand and liquid are stunning -
That is both a good and bad example of it-
There is noise but it doesn't scream
 
Hmm...a compressed sample. Always a good thing to base noise judgment on. :huh:

Even though it's compressed the footage looks awesome.

I agree!

Actually this particular clip looks awesome. I have the raw mxf file of this.
When I export it as a high bitrate wmv 40mbps, I see virtually NO noise!

SalaTar, I have the compressed version seen on the net . The compression artifacts (busy background) appear to be noise in the background. All I can say is get the original raw file, than export it at a higher bitrate and you will be pleasantly surprised. It's not noise, but compression artifacts from the re-compression of a lower bitrate file.
 
For the record... Varicam footage can be noisy as well, especially in areas that are dark or red and ALWAYS in areas that are dark red. Noise is not JUST from the camera but from the DVCproHD codec which is great but because it is almost 7:1 can add noise and make CC a pain...

I have your clip your uploaded.
You are right, yours shows noise.
The last one I created (wmv 40 mbps) looks clean.
