Commentaries welcome! :)

PS: be sure to have a proper calibrated monitor (not too dark).

I'm liking the story idea and really digging the music(was it original?). Maybe my monitor is dark but the visuals arent really doin it for me. Despite that I'd like to see it when its done.

Hi,can I ask a question?
I am a film school student in Taiwan.
I ready to prepare my graduate work now, and want to use DVX100 to shot it.
But some question I found disturb me.
When I shot a scene in Low key Location, the shadow parts always appear noise.
So,my question is.......
Does your short film use DVX100?
If the answer is YES, why the scene in parking place doesn't have any noise?

I really like this trailer!

I like the fact that it is in a foreign language...as an American that automatically makes me give it 20 bonus "cool" points.

I think the trailer is very well edited and I like the way it gets the viewer right into the story but doesn't give anything away. It does however leave you with a sense of intrigue and wondering what will happen next.

I really like the quality of the dialogue. What microphone did you use?

I REALLY, REALLY liked your trailer! And since you asked for comments here are my thoughts...

A couple of minor suggestions that I think might improve the trailer:
1. I would take off the first title screen "Attention: Excessive drinking is bad..." I think it come across as almost humorous. I think it would be much more effective just to start immediately after that screen, with the first line ("Vincent? Its Rudolf.") That line along with the music kicking in just grabs your attention immediately!

2. During the part where it has various shots of bottles being opened/poured you could possibly add in some subtle and possibly even distorted sound effects of bottle opening, pouring, maybe some heavy breaths. I just think it would help add a little variety to the long string of dialogue and enhance the visuals a little. Just a thought.

3. The very last shot in the trailer where we hear a gun shot (?); I think if it is supposed to be a gun shot you should go with a different sound effect. The one in there right now sounds almost too realistic if that makes sense. I think a sound effect with some more reverb (Because in that setting the sound probably would echo/reverb quite a bit). It might even be cool to let the reverberations of the shot continue to die out even after the shot cuts to black.

4. Lastly, a very minor thing. I don't know if you intend this to be for an English speaking/American audience or not (if so, I would definitely watch it!) but there were a few minor changes that could be made to the subtitles to make it more conversational. If you just put the subtitles up there so we could enjoy your wonderful trailer then thank you!

Once again, I think this looks very well done and it should be very entertaining. Post more when you get the chance!

Thanks for your comments guys :)

to Nobody356: if "original music" means "never used before" yes it is.

to digicinema: yes, it was shot with a DVX100AE. If you want to get minimum noise: no gain, and shot at 1/25 shutter speed.

to pia12254:
1: the first title screen is intended to be almost humorous, even if the film is not.
Maybe you're right, I should remove it.

2: I prefer to keep only the music. It suit well the part in the film.

3: This isn't a gun shot. It's a door slam :) There will be no confusion in the film.

4: of course I will do a subtitled version of the finished film, but I need to find an english born person to do a good translation. The one I've done myself for the trailer is far from prefect, but I hope it is understandable.
By the way, if some french speaking persons on this forum want to see the movie without subtitles, it's here: http://www.noirtotal.com

I really like this so far. Like mentioned before, the shots in the garage are excellent. I love the first wide shot of the garage scene. beautiful.

also, I LOVE your Avatar. :)

You mean you shot all the low light scenes at 1/25 shutter speed?

well... actually I shot all the film at 1/25 shutter (except some shot at 1/12).
I think this is the best setting to get a "film look".
