Noa/Rice Digital & Narrow Road Entertainment Presents: "Broken Shadows"

Hey Larry, go find a nice park or something and get a change of pace. That might help! I was watching Jay Leno last night and his guest was Emilio Esteves, who's been working on a script for about 6 years. It's about the assasination of JFK. Anyway, he said his brother, Charlie Sheen, told him to just drive to get away - that might help him overcome his writer's block (which had been going on for about a year). So he drove about 150 miles and stopped at a random hotel. When he stopped at that hotel, the front desk lady had actually been at the same Ambassador hotel, right where JFK got shot. Cool story I though... :)

Thanks tommy...good suggestion. I do try to "get away" somewhere peaceful when I'm trying to think out a story/plot idea, it definitely helps.

Driving is not a good solution for me because I already spend 4 hours a day on the road commuting for work. So it increases stress, rather than reduces it, for me :) But for those that don't deal with long, traffic filled, commutes driving can prove to be a way to relax and think.

Well, the plans changed slightly. Since I knew Brandon was busy all weekend shooting Captain Fundraiser, I used the time today to get a solid draft to Jason for RE-BIRTH...and I think, other than a few tweaks here and there, we are nearly there.

Now this weekend, while Brandon's shooting, I'll get back to BROKEN SHADOWS. Brandon had a nice idea for the opening visual and I've started implementing that...I think it adds that "something" that was missing from the first two drafts. Also inspires me for the rest...I think this next draft will be pretty solid (I can feel it in my bones...now if it would just come out of my fingers  )

4 hours?? Ouch! Maybe what you need to do is get a different job...

You're one busy dude!

Can't wait to read the new script of Broken Shadows! Yep, I am shooting this weekend... just posted some screenies, and about to get some BTS pics up over in the Captain Fundraiser thread in User Films

I'm glad to hear that your progress is looking up with Broken Shadows Larry.

I just finished reading and reviewing the 2nd draft for Re-Birth. I am very pleased on the whole. Larry is great. I think another small revision and it is going to be there. Of course, it could never be finished and one could always go on revising and revising, but I feel like Larry is giving me some good stuff, that I couldn't have done on my own, and that I will really be able to take and run with. Then it is up to me to turn it in to a piece of crap :)
Sorry, I think I kinda jacked your thread there for a minute Brandon. I was just trying to give some props to Larry
I'm gonna go post this in my thread now (tail between legs)

Looking forward to some BTS Brandon

Ok, Draft 3 is on it's way to B-Dawg!! I feel pretty good about it so far...hope he likes it.

I have to say, this is kind of fun switching back and forth between scripts...but I wouldn't want to do it on anything larger than these 6 minute projects :)

Only because you tricked me last night, Brandon... I have to say, I do not like that font on your poster in the middle... it's so... generic. Hit up some font sites and get a new one.

Man.

Ugly.

HAHAHAAA take that ya ol bas#%^d

So I saw this thread and I thought that I had commented in hear already- but then I noticed that it was not Checkmate, and it all made sence. Good luck on this project. I think that is a smart choice to start over with a new idea rather then try and get a bigger idea / script into a shorter time / film.

I like that sunset in your poster great shot!

Thanks Ryan! We're still trying to get a solid script down... we're on draft 4 now... I also need to get rollin' on casting the rest of the film and getting locations... I just finished a shoot, so I am recovering from that, hehe.
