i gotta give ya credit for being able to shoot these in such a short time with no budget!
and to get ahold of that mansion. i like the creativity/thought you put into your locations/sets.

however, these 2 films just were not 'my cup of tea'.
to be honest, i was bored, not drawn into the story or characters and had to fast forward through the film just to check your cinematography.
my critiques are:
1. too many scenes out of focus....need to pull focus on those long shots where the character is moving towards/away from the camera for a long time. no one wants to watch half a scene with the subject and point of interest out of focus.
2. the night scenes seemed way overlit and unnatural.
3. i couldn't swallow the constant internal dialogue/monologue thing....i prefer that a filmmaker show me what is going on instead of telling me.
4. too long. way too long. at least for the amount of content.

i don't know if you've done some other shorter films, which i'd love to see, but i think if you could try to condense everything it might improve things a lot. i kept thinking to myself, 'how is this shot moving the story forward?' i feel like you could've communicated the same amount of information with about half the number of shots. i could be wrong about this, it was just how i felt after trying to watch them and i could've just been annoyed by the melodramatic slow pacing.

that said, i see so much potential. you've accomplished so much for just one person running the whole show and i think if you found some cool people to work with you could focus all your efforts on 1 or 2 aspects of production and raise the quality all around. trying to do it all by yourself, to be a great writer, director and dp all at the same time, is spreading yourself too thin.

i look forward to seeing you progress and grow! =)

I guess that's why it's called Art .everyone will love and everyone will hate. my style of movies is not your cup of tea :) of course when you do everything alone it's not perfect but for me imperfection it's perfection. E! news interviewed me about this movie and they said totally different than you. Thank you for your comments. Everything is there for a reason. if the girl is talking for 3 min alone in a dark room there's a reason why. for the movie and for the audiance. people are used to fast cut cut but not me. all my angle , dialogue etc.. everything is there for a reason.

Didnt really like either of them as well to be honest. Very slow,,,and not a great story. The second one had very bad acting..and seemed abit washed out. The house did not seem to really be lived in. Looked like a model house for sale. Personally I like a better story..that keeps me interested. You have know character a bit to even care about a story. These just seem like a story that just starts..about perfect strangers. Hope I am making sence here.
